Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies and similar storage technologies Niexbot uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. We also use sessionStorage and localStorage — browser-based storage mechanisms that work similarly but never leave your device.
2. What We Use
Niexbot uses no third-party advertising or tracking cookies. We use only first-party browser storage:
| Name / Key | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_jn_sid |
sessionStorage | Anonymous session identifier for self-hosted analytics. A random string — not linked to your identity. | Until tab is closed |
niexbot_consent |
localStorage | Stores your cookie consent choice (accepted / declined). | 12 months |
niexbot_bypass_history |
localStorage | Stores your recent tool history locally. Never sent to our servers. | Until manually cleared |
| Chat history | sessionStorage | Stores your current chat session for continuity when navigating between pages. Cleared when the browser session ends. | Until tab is closed |
3. Third-Party Storage
Bunny Fonts (fonts.bunny.net) — serves web fonts with no tracking cookies. No personal data is collected by the font CDN.
Cloudflare — may set a __cf_bm cookie for bot management purposes. This is a necessary cookie for network security and does not require consent under most interpretations of the ePrivacy Directive.
4. Cookie Categories
- Strictly Necessary: Cloudflare bot management (
__cf_bm). Cannot be disabled as they are essential for security. - Analytics: Our self-hosted analytics session ID (
_jn_sid). Used to understand aggregate tool usage. No profiling, no advertising. - Functional: Consent storage, chat history, bypass tool history. Improve your experience but not essential.
5. Managing Your Preferences
You can change your cookie consent at any time:
You can also clear all browser storage for this site at any time:
- Chrome: DevTools → Application → Storage → Clear site data
- Firefox: DevTools → Storage → right-click origin → Delete All
- Safari: Develop → Show Web Inspector → Storage → Clear
6. Do Not Track
We respect the Do Not Track (DNT) browser signal. If your browser sends a DNT header, we disable our analytics tracking for your session.
